This bank was originally registered as the Banaskantha District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd. under The Bombay State Cooperative Act in 1959. In 1960, the Gujarat State was partitioned from Maharashtra and formed as separate state with cooperative regulation under Gujarat State Cooperative Societies Act 1961.  Radhanpur & Santalpur taluka of Patan district were included in its area of operation after the formation of new district.
